The Host
Reikou.net was originally registered on March 19, 2004 by Netrillium at Enom and launched March 24, 2004. It was first hosted at PinchPenny, which is a very crappy service. Good thing it died.

Kyuu is really bad at this hosting thing, and so her long string of hosts include Crystal, HostGiga, and then Eriu.

After Eriu had to change her hosting plan, Kyuu begged Li who asked her friend Megori. Reikou.NET's current plan consists of 200mb of space and 5gb of transfer every month. ♥

The Name
The word reikou is Japanese for "luminescent" or "cold light". Luminescence is light that does not generate heat, such as an aurora. I have a fascination with light, which is the reason for the name.

Like most others who buy domains, Reikou.NET was not my first pick, looking through names that were taken. When I was looking to buy a domain, I compiled a list and narrowed my choices down to resonated.net and reikou.net, and asked for my friends' opinions; they all picked reikou.
Note: reikou is more offen spelt as reiko, which is the same, but I prefer the one with the u.

Reikou.NET's other name is the Luminescence network, since reikou means luminescent, and I needed a collectivized name. However, it's not as frequently used as just Reikou.NET.
